HONDA Malaysia Sdn Bhd menganjurkan program khas bersama pelanggan dan media untuk menguji keberkesanan penjimatan minyak enjin i-DSI yang dipasang pada model Honda City, baru-baru ini.

Dengan dipantau pegawai daripada Persatuan Automobil Malaysia (AAM), 16 peserta menyahut cabaran Ujian Keberkesanan Penjimatan Minyak (FEAT) berkenaan.

Cabaran itu cukup unik kerana peserta perlu memandu di lebuh raya pada kelajuan 80km/j sementara mengekalkan pemanduan dengan memasang penyaman udara, membawa barangan keperluan dan tayar ganti.

Acara selama dua hari itu menyaksikan lapan pemandu lelaki dan empat pemandu wanita termasuk kumpulan empat wartawan bersaing.

Semua peserta memulakan cabaran di Petaling Jaya dengan memandu kenderaan ke Cameron Highlands sebelum ke Bukit Merah untuk bermalam dan pulang kembali ke ibu pejabat Honda Malaysia Sdn Bhd keesokan harinya.

Perjalanan sejauh 660 kilometer (km) itu hanya dibekalkan 42 liter petrol iaitu satu tangki penuh.

Untuk memastikan ia benar-benar menjimatkan dan mengikut peraturan pegawai AAM sentiasa memeriksa takat minyak sebelum dan selepas perjalanan.

Pengarah Urusan Honda Malaysia Sdn Bhd, Atsushi Fujimoto dalam ucapannya berkata, enjin i-DSI dibangunkan secara eksklusif untuk kenderaan kompak. Honda City dan Honda Jazz cukup sesuai dengan pilihan enjin berkenaan.

Pasukan yang dianggotai Jimmy Ng, 27, Eric Goh, 29, Sim Chee Kun, 30, dan Edwin Ng, 28, muncul juara dengan hanya menggunakan 25.29 liter petrol untuk perjalanan sejauh 662.5km.

Mereka memandu pulang hadiah bernilai RM4,000 termasuk jam tangan Honda, baucar petrol RM1,000, payung Honda Racing dan topi.

Jimmy Ng ketika ditemui, berkata cabaran itu sungguh menyeronokkan kerana ia memerlukan peserta mematuhi peraturan ditetapkan.

“Kami memastikan kenderaan kami menggunakan semaksimum mungkin jumlah petrol sepanjang perjalanan. Ia memang mencabar,” katanya.

In a show whose "concept cars" often looked as production-ready as their production-car standmates, the 4002 stood as a rare and defiant exception—a dream car of the highest order. The winner of Peugeot's second design competition, which attracted 2800 entries from 90 countries, the retro-futuristic 4002 was drawn within three deceptively simple guidelines: It had to have a clear association with the French marque, it had to recall one of Peugeot's historic models, and it had to be innovative, creative, and original. The designer, a 32-year-old graphic artist from Germany named Stephan Schulze, took his inspiration from Peugeot's gorgeous 402 of 1936, and earned a cool 5000 euros for his efforts. C'est magnifique!
